What I Collect

Here's what I collect when you use Vocalo Lab:

  • Basic account stuff (your email, name) when you sign up
  • The audio files you want me to transcribe (these are processed by AssemblyAI and then deleted)
  • Some usage stats to help me make Vocalo Lab better
  • Payment info (but that goes straight to Paddle - I never see your credit card details!)
  • Subscription status and billing history (so I know what plan you're on)
  • Notion workspace info (if you connect the integration) like workspace name and database ID
How I Use Your Info

Here's what I do with your info:

  • Make Vocalo Lab work and keep improving it
  • Turn your audio into text (that's the whole point!)
  • Keep track of your account and billing
  • Send you updates or let you know if something's up
  • Keep everything secure and running smoothly
  • Send your transcriptions to Notion (if you've connected that integration)
Data Security

I take security seriously! Your data is protected with proper encryption and security measures. Nobody else can access your stuff, and I delete your audio files after I'm done transcribing them. I'm not in the business of keeping your personal recordings around.

Third-Party Services

AssemblyAI (Audio Processing): I use AssemblyAI to process your audio recordings and create transcriptions. AssemblyAI is enterprise-grade and maintains the highest security standards including GDPR compliance, SOC 2 Type 2 certification, ISO 27001, HIPAA compliance, and PCI DSS standards. Your audio files are securely transmitted to AssemblyAI for processing and are automatically deleted after transcription is complete. AssemblyAI processes data in compliance with EU data residency requirements and never uses your audio data to train their models. Check out AssemblyAI's privacy policy for more details on their data handling practices.

Paddle (Payment Processing): I use Paddle for all payment processing - they're PCI compliant and way better at handling financial stuff than I am! When you subscribe, Paddle gets your payment info and shares your subscription status with me (but not your card details). They have their own privacy policy too, so check that out if you're curious about how they handle your payment data.

Notion Integration (Pro Users): If you connect your Notion workspace, I store your workspace name, database ID, and an access token that lets me create pages in your workspace. I only use this to send your transcriptions when you click the "Send to Notion" button - I don't read or access any of your existing Notion content. You can disconnect this anytime, and when you do, I immediately delete all your Notion connection info from my servers.

Your Rights

Your data, your rules! You can:

  • See what data I have about you
  • Fix anything that's wrong or outdated
  • Delete your account and all your data if you want out
  • Tell me to stop processing your data
  • Take your data elsewhere (if that's technically possible)
